Grateful For Biggie

Grateful for Biggie:
Where Grateful Vibes Meet Hip-Hop Flow!

Step into a world where time-honored melodies collide with urban poetry, where the rhythms of yesterday's legends unite with the beats of a modern era. Introducing "Grateful for Biggie," the ultimate mashup tribute that seamlessly blends the Grateful Dead's signature grooves with the lyrical genius of Notorious B.I.G. Get ready for a sonic journey that defies genres and sparks new musical dimensions.

At the heart of "Grateful for Biggie" lies the powerful fusion of two iconic forces. The Grateful Dead's ethereal harmonies and improvisational magic interweave with Biggie's slick rhymes and storytelling prowess, creating a tapestry of sound that resonates with fans of both worlds. Each performance is a dynamic celebration of musical innovation, where "China Cat Sunflower" meets "Kick in the Door," and "Shakedown Street" flows seamlessly with "Hypnotize."

Led by a group of passionate musicians, "Grateful for Biggie" captures the essence of both the Grateful Dead and Notorious B.I.G., paying homage to the legacies that shaped generations. With electrifying stage presence and the soulful vibes of the past, this tribute band invites you to revel in the familiar while experiencing the thrill of the unexpected.

So, whether you're a classic rock enthusiast curious about hip-hop's allure or a rap aficionado looking to groove to some legendary tunes, "Grateful for Biggie" promises an unforgettable ride. Founded by McCauley in 2004, with the lineup solidified in 2009, Deer Tick partly attribute their unfaltering chemistry to a shared sense of humor. But as a phenomenally rowdy live act who once averaged 250 shows a year, Deer Tick mainly credit their deep-rooted connection to a mutual love for the unpredictability of the musical impulse. “I feel very lucky that we all ran into each other at some point pretty early on in our lives,” says McCauley. “From the start, I just wanted to find other musicians that would somehow all stick together, which definitely isn’t easy. But we all have a real fascination with music, and that desire to never limit ourselves or repeat ourselves is something that we all very much continue to share.”

Fairy Walk at Stanley Park

We are pleased to be invited to serve up some food as you enjoy a magical day at Stanley Park. This is a two day event but we will only be there on the 13.

Whimsical Fairy Walk

Oct 12 & 13, 2024, 10:00 am–4:00 pm
Location: Woodland Wildflower Garden / Beveridge Pavilion

Join us for a whimsical walk through an area of Stanley Park that will be sprinkled with fairy houses for a magical experience of the natural world. Volunteer builders help to create a fairyland of small structures built out of natural materials, opening a portal to the imagination and the incredible world around us using nature's gifts. This is a family-friendly celebration of nature, creativity, inspiration and community.

The fairy houses will be sprinkled throughout our Woodland Wildflower Garden leading out to the Enchanted Oak Tree. Arts and crafts will be in the Beveridge Pavilion on both days. Sunday's event will also include an hour-long Fairies of the Seasons puppet show from 12:00 - 1:00 on the Beveridge Pavilion stage.

BUILDERS NEEDED! Fairies are returning to Stanley Park's Enchanted Oak Tree and are in need of new homes to rest in while they're here! Will you build one? Sign up today to build your own fairy house here.
